Performance Development Process

Hotel Savant is indebted to various institutions during the creation process for each individual work. Most are created in part through residencies and workshops, sponsored or hosted by spaces that enable the impending production to take place.

Men Go Down was written in residence at The MacDowell Colony. Written in a fragmented form of blank verse, the text is an attempt to create a uniquely poetic and contemporary language, applied dramatically to a historically elliptical subject matter. Workshopped in residence at The Park Avenue Armory, under the auspices of Moving Theater, the work will continue its development at 3LD Art and Technology Center, where it will premiere in 2010.
